“What should I buy?”
“The chrysanthemums. They have a lot of personality like you. Full, and resilient before cut. Once they are cut, they can last up to three to four weeks,” he released, coming up closely behind me. “Any color in particular?”
“White,” I barely said just above a whisper. Just when I was about to tell him they didn’t have all white, I watched him walk further down, bend over and produce a bouquet of white chrysanthemums.
“Why are you so nice to me?” I asked, trembling. “I don’t…” I said, my voice trailing off as he eased in front of me and lifted my chin.
“Because when I look at you, even though it drives me freaking crazy, your presence calms my soul.” A tear fell, and this time, I smiled before swiftly swiping it away.”
